Ovacık & Hisarönü villa guide
Ovacık and Hisarönü are two neighbouring holiday villages in the pine forests at the foot of Babadağ, on the road between Fethiye and Ölüdeniz; just minutes from Ölüdeniz and full of pool villas with large gardens, they suit families and larger groups who want to make the most of their budget.
Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 60 km away, roughly 1 hour by car. The Ölüdeniz lagoon and Belcekız Beach are 5–10 minutes' drive. Babadağ is known for its paragliding launch sites, with tandem flights landing on the beach at Ölüdeniz. The Lycian Way starts in Ovacık; Butterfly Valley is reached by boat, and Kayaköy by a short drive or on foot along a trail.
Hisarönü has a lively centre full of restaurants and bars, while Ovacık is quieter. Most villas are detached houses with gardens and pools among the pine trees, and four- and five-bedroom villas suitable for large groups are common. The season runs from late April to late October; thanks to the altitude, evenings are a little cooler than on the coast.
When choosing a villa, decide whether you want to be close to the nightlife or prefer peace and quiet. If you want to avoid late-night noise, look at villas on the Ovacık side, away from the centre of Hisarönü. Families with children can use the children's pool and garden filters; check the Ministry of Culture and Tourism permit number on every listing.
